Where to stay near the Movistar Arena
You’ve got tickets for a concert at the Movistar Arena, formerly the WiZink Center, and want to stay close enough to walk back or not rely on the last metro. Here’s which areas suit you best, what kind of place to choose for your plans and how to organise concert night.

Where the Movistar Arena is
The Movistar Arena is on Avenida de Felipe II, in the Salamanca district, between Goya and Fuente del Berro. The nearest metro stations are Goya (lines 2 and 4) and O’Donnell (line 6). It’s a central, quiet and well-connected area, but on concert nights thousands of people leave at once: staying within walking distance or on a direct metro line makes all the difference.
The best areas to stay
Salamanca district: the most convenient choice. Walk there and back, with restaurants and terraces for dinner before the show.
Ventas and Ciudad Lineal: a little further out but cheaper, with direct buses and metro to the venue.
City centre (Sol, Ópera, Gran Vía): if you want to combine the concert with sightseeing. Metro line 2 runs straight from Ópera and Sol to Goya, with no changes.
Hotel, hostel or apartment?
Hotels in the area are comfortable but prices often soar on concert nights. A guesthouse room with a private bathroom is the most practical choice if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower: it costs less and the location is just as good. If you’re a group of friends, an apartment works out cheaper per person, with a kitchen and living room for pre-concert drinks. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s within walking distance or on a direct line, and that you can get in without depending on front-desk hours.

Book as soon as the dates are announced: places nearby are the first to fill up. If the date might change, choose the refundable rate. Check in before the concert so you can drop your things, get ready and just come back to sleep. And if you arrive in the morning or leave late the next day, leave your bags in a Smart Lockers locker. After the show, the metro runs until about 1:30 a.m.; if you’re within walking distance, you skip the queues.
