Very central location, but the overall experience was stressful. Communication was through an AI chat with a fake AI photo; some answers made no sense and it repeatedly asked if we wanted it to “confirm with the team.” A human would have been much better. We were told before arrival that we could leave luggage in a locker, but directions were unclear. The whtsap number didn’t work and international calls wouldn’t connect. We finally reached the host from the cleaning lady’s phone. She and another employee stayed after work to help us until the host answered. Our room number was then changed. The place was basic: no blankets, no bins, and the safe didn’t work. Good for one night, but not a longer stay.

This place is spacious and comfortable. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable as well. The only thing that I didn't like was their AI robot chat with a fake AI photo. Some things that he said didn't make sense. Sometimes you ask a question, and he repeatedly asks you, "Do you want me to confirm it with my team?" which was very confusing in the beginning until I realised that I was talking with a robot. A human conversation would be nicer. Also, you have to unlock 4 doors to get into your unit. We wanted to leave our bags in the luggage store as we arrived earlier than our check-in time. When I asked for the exterior door code, they replied, "I told you early check-in is not possible", which was rude and didn't make sense, because I was asking for access to the building to use storage.

You are in the heart of Habsburg Madrid, between the Teatro Real and Gran Vía. A few minutes' walk away are the Royal Palace, Plaza de Oriente, Almudena Cathedral and the Sabatini Gardens, and a little further the Temple of Debod, with one of the best sunsets in the city. In the other direction, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the San Miguel Market.

It is a neighbourhood to explore on foot: opera and ballet at the Teatro Real, the Descalzas Reales Monastery, shopping on Preciados and Gran Vía, and tapas in the traditional taverns of Cava Baja.

On foot you can reach Gran Vía and Plaza Mayor in about 5 minutes and Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace in about 10.

You are right in the centre, next to Gran Vía: you can walk almost everywhere, so you will hardly need the metro. Even so, it is close at hand. Ópera metro (lines 2 and 5, and the branch line to Príncipe Pío) is less than 2 minutes' walk away. Sol, with lines 1, 2 and 3 and Cercanías trains, and Callao (lines 3 and 5) are also very close.

To get to the airport, the branch line takes you one stop to Príncipe Pío, where Cercanías line C-1 starts; there is also metro line 8 from Nuevos Ministerios and the Airport Express bus from Atocha.
