Where to stay for the Formula 1 in Madrid
The Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix is held in Madrid, at the Madring circuit next to IFEMA. The next edition is on 10-12 September 2027. It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year: in 2026, places nearby sold out and prices soared. Here’s where to stay, how to get there and when to book.
Updated November 2026
Where the circuit is and how to get there
Madring is in north-east Madrid and combines a new purpose-built section with roads across the IFEMA exhibition grounds. On race days, car access to the area is restricted, so public transport is the practical option: metro line 8 goes straight to the IFEMA area. Always check Madring’s official access information and times before you go.
The best areas to stay
Next to IFEMA and the airport: the closest, but also the first to fill up and the most expensive.
Hortaleza and Ciudad Lineal: quiet neighbourhoods a few minutes from the circuit, with metro lines 8 or 4 close by and more reasonable prices.
City centre: if you want to combine the race with the city. Line 8 runs from Nuevos Ministerios straight to IFEMA, with no changes.
Race weekend tips
Book as soon as you have your tickets: nearby places sell out months ahead. Choose the flexible rate in case your plans change; you can cancel for free up to 2 days before arrival. Forget the car for getting to the circuit: park it and take the metro. If you’re a group, several studios or rooms in the same building cost less than a hotel next to the venue. And be wary of deals that look too good on sites you don’t know: fake listings appear on weekends like these.
