AREA:

Although it's in the city center, this is a very quiet area, with streets full of antique shops to get lost in.

On Sunday and holiday mornings, locals and tourists alike flock to the famous Rastro: a street market full of antiques, clothes, odd items… where all the neighborhood shops bring their most picturesque artwork and objects out onto the street.

There are also many local businesses nearby, including supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, and bars.

HOW TO GET THERE

From the airport (Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas):
Take Line 8 towards Nuevos Ministerios. At Nuevos Ministerios, transfer to Line 6 towards Laguna. Get off at Diego de León, then transfer to Line 5 towards Casa de Campo.
Get off at Puerta de Toledo and walk to the provided address.

From Atocha Station:
Take Line 1 towards Pinar de Chamartín. Get off at Gran Vía and transfer to Line 5 towards Casa de Campo.
Get off at Puerta de Toledo and walk to the provided address.

From Chamartín Station:
Take Line 1 towards Valdecarros. Get off at Gran Vía and transfer to Line 5 towards Casa de Campo.
Get off at Puerta de Toledo and walk to the provided address.

If arriving by car, please check the Madrid City Council website to see where you are allowed to drive and park.


GETTING AROUND

The nearest metro stations are Puerta de Toledoand La Latina(both on Line 5).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

-Rental cots are available for €30 per stay. Please remember to request one by contacting the host prior to your arrival.

-Tenants must present a valid ID and a credit card at check-in.

-Parties and similar events are not permitted at this property.

-Access to the apartment requires a smartphone with an internet connection.

-The tenant will be required to sign a seasonal rental agreement. This contract respects the original conditions of the booking and must specify the duration of the stay, indicating that the purpose of the rental is not indefinite occupation of the property nor use as a permanent residence. We enjoyed the stay here. It was clean, well-located, and a good value with things like a dishwasher and washing machine and air conditioning. The check in process was smooth and very helpful because without it, there would have been no way to understand how to use the elevator and all the keys. The negatives would have been one of the queen beds was extremely stiff and squeaky. Also, the air conditioning in each room varied so much with some rooms being as cold as ice and others were very hot. We couldn’t seem to figure out why some worked and others didn’t cool down. Overall, 4/5 stars for us.

The property has a great location and it’s surrounded by restaurants and shops. Don’t miss the market on Sundays.Great benefits of the apartment for a family of five are the two bathrooms, three bedrooms and the parking for the rental car. I would not recommend cooking in the apartment. The kitchen is nice but small and there’s is little space for seating to have a meal. It’s clear to us that we are not cooking whilst in Madrid and the plan is to enjoy the amazing restaurants.

Tuvimos una estancia algo más larga de lo habitual (2 semanas) y todo estuvo perfecto. El piso está totalmente equipado, incluyendo varias toallas y sábanas para poder cambiarlas. La ubicación es muy buena y plaza de parking prácticamente en el mismo edificio.. 100% recomendable.

Apartamento perfecto para 4-5 personas, con dos lavabos muy bien arreglados. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y las camas comodas, todas con aire acondicionado (en verano Madrid puede llegar a ser muy caluroso). Bien localizado, plaza Mayor a uno 15 minutos andando, pl del Sol a unos 20 minutos, Atocha a unos 30.

Great location. Very comfortable and clean. Loved the shower and was also nice to see shower supplies even with a toothbrush since I forgot to pack mine. The street was fairly quiet yet easy walking to many fun places. Especially liked the Mercado de San Miguel tapas market place. Could walk to the Prado museum and Atocha station.

The flat was really well laid out and furnished. It looked as good as the photos and had plenty of room and storage. We were able to walk everywhere central but there was also a metro just round the corner to get to the airport without any problem. Located right behind a market and close to food shops for easy stocking up. Was much better for us than booking a hotel as left us totally flexible.

The place was great the communication was wonderful. The only downside was that we lost a day due to the United Flight being canceled. However, when we informed La Latina of this they were there the next day to expedite check in. Day late but not their fault. Wonderful stay. We would highly recommend the experience.
